Vacation 2011

Well the flight to LA wasn't too bad. It was the longest flight that I had been on so far. It was a good way to prepare for the 15 hour flight from LA to Sydney. I was surprised that I found my way to the correct gate so easily!

The flight to Sydney from LA was so long! I didn't sleep as much as I would have liked to, I watched a lot of movies (The Godfather parts 1 &2 which are each 3 hours long! & I also watched Burlesque) they were all great movies! Overall the plane ride wasn't as bad as I tought it would be, just boring! The only thing that really worried me was my legs and feet puffed up! It was due to the pressure difference in the air plane but it scared me to death! They didn't go down for about 2 days!

Well once I got into Sydeny I had to go through customs and get my luggage, by the time I did that I had already missed my flight to Perth! Haha so they had to put me on another flight that left 2 hours later! That was okay with me, it gave me some time to grab something to eat and change my clothes. The flight felt so long because it was the last stretch. It was only about 5 hours long, I watched the movie Country Strong and took a short nap. I just couldn't wait to see Uncle Joe, Aunt Tracey and Ben, Josh & Georgia!

When I got off the plane Uncle Joe, Aunt Tracey, Ben, Josh & Georgia were waiting for me! Everyone was so excited to see me & I was just as excited to see them! We got my bags and headed out. It was my first time being in a car with the steering wheel on the right & they drive on the left side of the road, it was so weird! We stopped at mcdonalds to grab something to eat. The mcdonalds here are much different than the ones at home. They are much nicer and the food isn't nasty! After we left mcdonalds we went back to the house and everyone showed me around and showed me to my room. The house is beautiful and I have my own space in the granny flat. I was able to watch Georgia do ballet (she was great!) Ben had baseball so him and Uncle Joe were out for awhile and brought take out home for dinner. After we ate I went to bed! I was so tired from my long trip!

I only selpt until about 9am today, I was surprised because how tired I was. When I woke up the kids had already left for school so I had some breakfast with Aunt Tracey and we talked for awhile. We left around 10:30am to go to the grocery store to get food for the party on Saturday. Food shopping was nice, I was able to see what was different here than in the US. After food shopping we stopped at the post office and then at a cafe for a muffin and coffee. After our lunch we went to a mother's day program they were having at the school. It was great to see the kids classrooms and friends from school! Ben made a picture book, Josh drew a picture and Georgia made a puzzle and a wooden flower for mother's day! After we left the school we came back to the house and Georgia and her friend Bella got ready for cheerleading. While we went to cheerleading the boys went to the skate park to ride their scooters. Georgia did great at cheerleading and the boys looked awesome on their scooters! That night we went for dinner at a local pub. The food was a little different than it is at home but it was really good I liked at a lot. When we got back from dinner we all sat down to watch a movie. I only saw about 5 minutes of the movie and fell asleep!
